Guide to Hunter Ratio?

Number of Actual Hunting Days?
Fly in to Camp on Sunday and return to Deer Lake the following Sunday. You hunt Monday through Saturday. Six days are actual hunting days.

Accommodations?
Two double bedrooms with indoor bathroom, shower, etc. Bedding is supplied. Bring a towel and washcloth.

Means of travel between camp and hunting site?
Usually by boat around the lake to different areas. The type of hunt is scope – spot & stalk.

Average day?
Rise at dawn – breakfast – early hunt – lunch ( in the field or back to camp) – rest – back in the field for the afternoon and evening hunt – return to camp for dinner.

Type of terrain?
Long rolling hills covered with small black spruce shrub – plenty of open barren ground – lots of bogs – a spotting scope is recommended.

Game care?
All skinning and backpacking is done by the guides. Game is flown out to the butcher every three days to be packaged at your request. We suggest vacuum packaging.

Weight Restriction?
Weight on the floatplane is restricted to 60 lbs. Bring a soft gun case for the floatplane trip to camp. Your hard gun case can be stored securely at the seaplane base.

Trip cost?
Fly-in floatplane trip to and from camp is included in the package price.
Gratuities and butcher costs are not included.

Firearms regulations in Canada?
We will send you the firearms declaration form to list your firearms for cross-border travel.

We have Newfoundland Caribou Hunting, Moose and Black Bear. All our guides are fully experienced. They will ensure that you have a good hunt!
