Current Artistic Director

Ms. Kim McLeod, a Member of the British Association of Teachers of Dance - BATD, is currently the Artistic Director of Amethyst. Kim joined the group as a 9 year old junior and has devoted many years to the group as a Junior and Senior dancer and then as a principle Instructor for both highland troupes. Kim has traveled and performed with the group on many occasions and brings an extensive knowledge of original choreographies, as well as a deep history of the group and a clear vision of where to take it in the future.

Founding Artistic Director and Choreographer
Internationally renowned choreographer of the Nova Scotia International Tattoo, Mr. Joseph Wallin, Fellow and Examiner BATD, Fellow CDTA & ISTD; SDTA, SOBHDJP, was the founding Artistic Director and Choreographer for Amethyst. He fulfilled this role for twenty one years and mentored Kim for several years before retiring. Mr. Wallin has returned to the group in a new role developing the new Step Dance Troupe and continues to function in an advisory role to both Kim and the Board of Directors.
