| Although Abby Lane is located
in a quiet rural setting, we are only a short distance from all the
conveniences and attractions of Cavendish and its surrounding
communities. The entrance to PEI's National Park is 3 minutes by
car. Cavendish's white sand beaches, located in the Park, are world
renowned for their beauty and aboundance. The National Park also
offers extensive walking and biking trails and excellent
interpretive programs on the natural and historical aspects of
Prince Edward Island.
Only minutes away is the homestead of
Anne of "Green Gables", which Parks Canada has completely restored
to the way it was in the 1890's. Several other "Anne" museums and
historical sites such as L.M. Mongomery's Cavendish Home, Green
Gables Post Office, The Birthplace of L.M. Montgomery and the Anne
of Green Gables museum at Park Corner are within a short drive. In
addition to the many atttractions such as Rainbow Valley and the
Sandspit Amusement area, Cavendish offers 18 hole championship golf
at Green Gables, Eagles Glenn, Anderson Creek, and Glasgow Hills and 9 holes of golf at Forest Hills or Red Sands.
Several other championship Island courses are within 30-45 minute
drive.
Shopping, crafts, dining and
entertainment are all within minutes of Abby Lane. Enjoy a
traditional lobster supper or pick up some fresh fish/seafood at the
wharf in Rustico. Rustico, a nearby fishing village, has many
conveniences and services, including; deep sea fishing, grocery
store, beer, wine and liquor store. Bank machines are available in
both Cavendish and Rustico. |
