BCG United Church Pastoral Charge Makes Donation in Aid of Ronald McDonald House

On Sunday, February 12, 2012, the Brigus, Cupids, Georgetown United Church Pastoral Charge made a presentation of $1211.61 in aid of Ronald McDonald House. The money was presented by the Sunday School Children and was received by Ms. Christine Morgan, Manager of Development and Communication with Ronald McDonald House Foundation, Newfoundland and Labrador, who spoke to the congregation about the visions and goals of the foundation. The money, in the amount of $1211.61, was collected from the Birthday and Anniversary Barrel and the presentation was made at the Brigus United Church Hall. Every Sunday any one having a birthday or anniversary during the previous week will make a donation to the barrel. At the end of each calendar year the money accumulated in the barrel is given to some worthwhile cause. This year it was decided to make the monies available to the Ronald McDonald House Foundation: next year it will go to the Stella Burry Community Services. Our mission as a church is to continue to reach out to those in need. We are pleased to support the construction and operation of Ronald McDonald House and the work of the Foundation.
