Our Ministers:

The Rev. Mrs. Nancy Mojica-Fisher, B.A., M. Div.

Rev.Nancy Mojica-Fisher was born in Manila, Philippines, October 1, 1958, to a Christian home. At a young age, she actively attended church with her family, went to Sunday School, Vacation Church School, Youth Group, and took part in music and mission ministries of her home church in the Philippines.

She completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology & Christian Education at Philippine Christian University, Manila, in 1981. In March 1985, she received a Master of Divinity degree with honours (Cum Laude) at Union Theological Seminary. She was ordained into the ministry by the United Church of Christ in the Philippines, on June 27, 1986. She served for 12 years (1980-1992) at various courts of the United Church of Christ in the Philippines, her home church. She held offices and served in various capacities at the Conference and National levels. She was the Coordinator of the Christian Education and Nurture Desk in the National office, which enriched her understanding of the life and work of the wider Church. Rev. Nancy spearheaded the organization of the Ministerial Fellowship (Ordained, Lay & Diaconal) which provided educational, personal and spiritual support for the Lay, Diaconal and Ordained ministers of her home Conference - the Greater Manila Conference. She organized and led a pool of Sunday School curriculum writers to help prepare indigenous resource materials for the local churches, especially in the rural context. She also contributed in the reproduction of Sunday School Curriculum resource materials both in Filipino (Tagalog dialect) & English, which she considers as her greatest contribution to the United Church of Christ in the Philippines.

On June 28, 1992, Rev. Nancy came to Newfoundland & Labrador Conference, as a Mutuality in Mission Minister - a ministry partnered by the United Church of Canada & the United Church of Christ in the Philippines. She ministered to Whitbourne Pastoral Charge from 1992-1995, and returned to the Philippines in 1996 and 1999 to share her enriching experience in Newfoundland and Labrador Conference to the Greater Manila Conference. She came back to Newfoundland & Labrador and served Campbellton Pastoral Charge (2001-2004) for three years, and, was admitted to the Order of Ministry in full membership within the United Church of Canada in 2003, after completion of courses at United Theological College, Montreal, Quebec, and, Queen’s Theological College, Kingston, Ontario. She served at Bloomfield-Musgravetown Pastoral Charge for seven years ( 2004-2011).

On October 1, 2011, she was appointed to minister to Brigus-Cupids-Georgetown Pastoral Charge. She welcomes with excitement and anticipation her new post. She looks forward to a fruitful ministry with the three congregations. Her philosophy is "To do my best, and God takes care of the rest!". Rev. Nancy is happily married to Garry Fisher of Bonavista, Bonavista Bay.
