An Historical Sketch of
St. Margaret's Bay,
Bible Fellowship Church

On June 27, 1999, St. Margaret's Bay Bible Fellowship Church held it's first Sunday Service at the Cross Roads Academy in Tantallon, Nova Scotia at 10:30 a.m.
It was a glorious day! There were about 25 people from the surrounding communities of the Bay area.
The idea of starting a church was not a new idea, but it was the result of many people talking to me about the need for a church in the Tantallon that would teach about Jesus Christ.

We chose:
Acts: 2:42; "Devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer".
and
St. John 4:35; "Jesus said: Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes, and look on the fields, that they are white for harvest." as our purpose for the church. We want to emphasize fellowship, breaking bread, biblical teaching and prayer life. We also realize that Jesus commanded us to evangelize because the fields are white to harvest. We want to be one of the huge tractors bringing in the harvest.

Six months have passed by since that day. The church has a woman's Bible study and a woman's prayer, Sunday School program, Fellowship dinners to invite friends every month, weekly prayer meeting and a Christmas Outreach Program.

We are very concerned for our persecuted brothers and sisters. We are involved with the Voice of the Martyrs by having special service to make us aware of the plight of Christians in other countries. We have a conference scheduled in February 24th, 2001 when representatives will come to the Halifax area to speak to us. We are also helping to buy Bibles for those who can't, through the Bible League.

We praise God for these things that He has done so far through St. Margaret's Bay Bible Fellowship Church. To Him alone belongs the honor and glory.
It is our prayer that He will use us, in anyway that He sees fit, to bring many into the Kingdom.
