The Cursillo movement is alive and well in Prince Edward Island, and it has been for more than 30 years now!
The first weekend on P.E.I. was held in October 1979 at Oak Acres Camp in Murray River. Since 1984 we have been using Belcourt Lodge in South Rustico. You can read more about how the Cursillo movement started, and specifically, how it found its way to P.E.I.
You'll find information about our wonderful Secretariat here.
Our Lay Director, Leo Shea, appreciates your feedback, questions, etc. and can be reached at Leo Shea or by phone at 961-2271.

What Is Cursillo?
Cursillo is a Spanish word that means "little course", and that's exactly what happens on a Cursillo weekend. Participants meet in a retreat house for a period of 4 days (Thursday to Sunday) to take part in a "little course in Christianity". The courses are offered as a series of short talks given by people who have previously taken part in another Cursillo weekend.
But Cursillo is more than simply a weekend. The weekend and follow-up gatherings help us to come to a deeper understanding of what it means to live our lives as Christians. It provides a community to help us live out that understanding. It inspires and encourages us to transform our family, neighbourhood, parish, and working environments into Christian communities.
