1. Richard Gill (Richard1) was born 1801. He married (1) Mary Jane Thompson November 15, 1827. He married (2) Elizabeth (Dunn) Connolly March 06, 1848. Richard settled on Prince Edward Island around 1819 and established a grist mill in Newton Cross. Although coming from Puritan ancestors his first wife Mary was a devout Catholic and following her death he converted to the Catholic faith.

Elizabeth was born in 1843 and died January 23, 1874. Thomas and Elizabeth are interred in St. Michael’s Cemetary, Iona.
