Dear Past Members/Affiliates of 8th Sackville GroupIn 2004 8th Sackville Group celebrated 25 years in the scouting movement. A 25th anniversary committee prepared a reunion held during Scout-Guide Week. The reunion took place on Saturday February 21 from 1:00PM to 4:00PM. An open invitation was extended to all past members and affiliates to drop in and meet & greet some past scouting companions and friends, and reminisce about good times. A display of 8th Sackville pictures of camps and special events were set up including some scouting memorabilia. Light snacks and drinks were available the gathering. In addition, a souvenir crest designed by Murray Deal commemorating our 25 Years in scouting to all that attended.
On Sunday, February 22 the displays in the gym were available to view after the morning service and to meet present scouting leaders.
Also, on Sunday 2:00PM at Faith Baptist, we hosted a Scout’s Own Service for all scouting groups in Sackville to celebrate our founder Lord Baden-Powell’s birthday and our 25 years in scouting. Rev. Hedley Hopkins, our first group Chaplain has offered to do the Scouter’s-Five for that service.
