Election Update: WORD OF APPRECIATIONS

First of all, I would like to express my sincere thanks to each and every member of IEEE Canada for the confidence, having me elected as the 2006-2007 Director-elect of Region 7 and President- elect of IEEE Canada. It is a great honour for me to be able to serve. I pledge to work tirelessly to enhance value of membership for us all as stated in my position statement.

The 2005 IEEE elections for Region 7 were unique in that for the first time members were given the opportunity to choose among 5 excellent volunteers with different backgrounds and visions which all converge to serve the IEEE and its members as best as they can. I want to congratulate all candidates who have stepped forward to serve. Well done, and I intend to rely on your enthusiasm and excellent leadership skills in promoting and enhancing the value of IEEE in Canada and throughout the World. The IEEE is a shining model for democracy and the pursuit for excellence world-wide.

As Director-elect for 2006-2007, I will have the opportunity to work with you and the Regional Committee leadership to achieve our common goals. I would like to hear from you, the membership, with your thoughts, desires, and mostly for your expressions of needs that can be fulfilled by IEEE Canada.
