One can visit the Hector Heritage Quay located at the new waterfront in Pictou, N.S. and see the full size wooden replica of the Ship Hector. The project was started to enlighten visitors to the aspects of building a large wooden ship, as well as train individuals in an apprenticeship program in carpentry work on building a large wooden vessel.

During the month of September each year, usually on the Labour Day weekend, the Re Enactment of the landing of the Pioneers on the shores of the upper Pictou Harbour area from the ship Betsey is performed by local residents of Lyons Brook, N.S. who are dressed in the period costume.
The Re Enactment takes place in the Village of Lyons Brook, N.S. with many displays and functions deplicting the arrival of the Pioneer Settlers who came aboard the ship Betsey landing on the shores of Lyons Brook, Nova Scotia in 1767.
The Betsey Heritage Society oversees a number of functions and attractions that include a musical variety concert at the United Church Hall performed by a large number of the village's residents, a pie eating contest, a costume parade through the village, a display of artifacts from the Pioneers period at the old Lyons Brook Schoolhouse.
