| Camping is one of the most
popular aspects of the Cub Program. It allows Cubs an enjoy the
outdoors in a natural setting. Cubs learn how to interact and
survive in the natural world. Our camp activities include hikes,
compass work, survival skills. Cubs learn what to do if they are
lost, how to build survival kits and much more. Kids are free to
play in the woods building forts, they enjoy camp fires and just
being together away from home! We generally do 2-3 camps a year, mainly at our rustic cabin at Miller Lake. Our next Camp is Friday May 4 - Sunday May 5. See below for details. |

| 2 Night Spring Camp We have an overnight camp planned for the weekend of Friday May 4 - Sunday May 6 2012 at our Miller Lake Camp in Fall River. This camp will coincide with the Halifax Area Cub Fun Day also held in the camp area. Our cabin is rustic in nature but has warmth of character. We have limited electricity via a generator use mainly in the evening, we have no running water and an outdoor toilet. We have a large loft where cubs sleep. . We will spend most of our day outside, learning camping/survival skills, compass work, hiking and enjoying the outdoors. The weather this time of year can be unpredictable, usually warm days and cooler at night. Please dress and pack your cub accordingly (See below). A . PLEASE NOTE: SNEAKERS OUTDOORS ARE OUT OF THE QUESTION! Sneakers are ideal for inside the cabin however our grounds and hiking trails are often wet and muddy.. See attached Packing list. We will be providing meals: (Note: We will not be providing meal Friday, Cubs should eat prior to arrival at camp.) Lunch on Saturday will be hotdogs, Sloppy Joes for Supper, French toast and cereal for breakfast. We will also have fresh fruit and veggies on hand at our meals along with nutritious drinks. If your child dislikes any of these items please provide an alternative snack. In case of allergies please let us know ahead. To offset the cost of this camp each cub will pay $30.00 cheques payable to 26th Halifax Cub Pack, or send money in a marked envelope. This should be back by May 2nd. We will meet at 7:00 pm on Friday at the cabin with pick up at 11:00 am Sunday. Please note we will be gone all day Saturday so cannot accommodate late arrivals. Parents are both welcome and encouraged to join us. We can always use the extra help and it is a chance to see our pack at work. A map is available on request, if you area not sure where to go. We look forward to seeing as many of our Cubs as possible this weekend. This experience counts towards badges too! If you have any questions please call us. SEE PACKING LIST BELOW! |
