Photos 2002All fish were released unharmed. Early April Black Salmon. Cold damp days but a few fish like this will warm you up real quick. This gal measured over 31''.
This is a Bright Salmon, caught in June. Guess who is holding it? Dang camera!
First shad of the year. Early, cool and high water. Nothing beats it.
I soon won't forget this day. Rained all day and it was cold. My fingers were so numb after this guy I had to pack it in. This was a real early smallie.
Ouananiche! Most people around here call them land lock salmon. Mush-a-Mush Lake has a healthy population but you've got to be there early in the year to have real good sport. This girl was handy 18''.
Brookies! We all grew up on brookies here in Nova Scotia. I only wish the camera caught the beauty of this little gem.
Every now and then I'm blessed to have my daughter accompany me on a trip. The first picture is River with a 3 pound Rainbow trout. By the way, that's her estimation, learning fast eh! In the next picture the two gangsters get ready to take off for a day.
Here is a man with experience. Percy Bruhm caught his first salmon when he was only ten years old. Now 76, he still enjoys to fly fish. Percy used to be my bus driver. I use to spend a lot of time sitting behind him on the bus. We weren't talking fishing though, if you get my drift.
Kevin Peach, pictured below, was kind enough to show me some ins and outs on salmon fishing. Kevin grew up along the Medway and knows a lot about salmon fishing. We'll work on a better picture.
Here is a beautiful trout, taken on a muddler. Over 3lbs of wild fish. You don't see that often here in Nova Scotia. Rene Barkhouse has a splendid story to tell as well. Ask him about it if you get the chance.
Here is a good mate of mine, Kerry Ritcey (snootch). Shown roll casting in the dark and enjoying a few lies on the porch.
![]() What do you do to keep kids out of trouble? Introduce them to fishing. Here my nephew Sam and brother-in-law Tony enjoy fly fishing for the first time. The next picture is Sammy showing us how an expert plays a fish. By the way Sam out fished us all that day.
