Want To Learn To Fly Fish?
![]() One On One Instruction On The WaterOver the years I've been approached by beginners and the curious about a basic introduction to fly fishing. While fly fishing is a life-long learning experience, there are some basic operations, terminology and techniques one can learn in a relatively short while that will help ease the learning curve. Learn to fly fish in a practical setting; on the water. Course Outline* Each session, morning or afternoon, is 3 hours. Rain or shine.(no rain delays in fly fishing!) * Learn the language and the terminology. * Take a look at gear selection and must-have equipment. * Basic rigging of equipment. The knots to know. * Safety issues. * Streamside ettiquette. * Basic casting fundamentals. Double-haul cast and roll cast. * Reading water. Where do fish hold and why? * Fly selection. * Fly floats, mending the line. * Hooking and playing fish. * Landing and releasing fish. As you can see by the last two items that we hope to actually catch a fish or two. No guarantees however. Remember, it's instruction not guiding! What Will You Need?Of course you must have a vaild general fishing license. You may bring your own equipment or it will be provided. A good sense of humour is a must. There are times when only a good chuckle will defeat your frustration. Besides, this is going to be fun.
The sessions will run from May 23rd through September 30th. Fees are $60 due at the start of the day. Contact InfoInterested? Want to sign up? Have a few more questions not answered here?
