General flute information on the internet:

Larry Krantz Flute Pages  -- Highly recommended site founded by Canadian flutist Larry Krantz with input from around the world.  Some of its features: "Flute Radio"; information on famous performers and teachers; flute makers; flute pedagogy; sheet music publishers; and much more.  Thousands of flutists of all levels subscribe to the list service, which is an online discussion forum on any flute-related issues, with a searchable archive.  Contributors have included Robert Dick, Trevor Wye, Ardal Powell, James Galway, Alexa Still, and many others.

FluteHistory.com -- Detailed and interesting site on the history of the flute by Ardal Powell, flute historian and manufacturer of period instruments.

Musical Accoustics -- Information on the accoustics of various kinds of flutes, provided by the University of New South Wales, Australia.

Selected other flute associations in North America:

Greater Boston Flute Association -- Geographically the closest to our own.   The Boston area is a major flute centre, with several music schools and flute manufacturers in the area, plus a lively concert and masterclass scene.  Member of the National Flute Association network.

National Flute Association -- The umbrella organization for all of North America, with many local branches.  Essentially American, but Canadian members are welcome.

Ottawa Flute Association -- Possibly the strongest and most active flute society in Canada.
