Outreach Program

Juniper House is a SAFE, comfortable place for women who want to make changes in their lives. As many as 15 people can stay at any one time. The maximum amount of time a woman can stay is 6 weeks. During this time a counsellor will help the woman deal with the abuse and assist her with the legal and social service agencies.

Because a woman's problems could not be dealt with during a six-week period, an OUTREACH PROGRAM was developed.

IT IS OUR GOAL TO BE AN ONGOING SUPPORT TO WOMEN IN THE COMMUNITY.

Juniper House provides ONGOING SUPPORT in each of the three counties through support group; drop-in visits at Juniper House and a follow up call if the women wish. For women just starting out on their own from Juniper House or for those who have never stayed at Juniper House the OUTREACH SUPPORT GROUPS are a good link to other women coping with similar issues.

THE OUTREACH PROGRAM CAN BE CONTACTED AT:

The Outreach Worker talks with women at Juniper House or at other locations in Digby, Shelburne and Yarmouth Counties and conducts support groups in each county. This program offers the following services to women who have left the shelter and non-residents who are victims of abuse that live in the tri-counties.

The Juniper House Outreach program is community-based. The outreach worker is available to meet you in your community, in a location that is convenient for you.
