Posted Feb 3rd: Nathan MacKinnon and Konrad Abeltshauser both had
a goal and two assists to lead the Mooseheads to a 5-3 win over the visiting
Moncton Wildcats. The Wildcats opened the scoring before Matthew Boudreau tied
the game on the powerplay only to see the Wildcats strike back just 17 seconds
later to take a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes. Nathan MacKinnon tied the game at two
at the half way point of the 2nd period and then Konrad scored a powerplay
marker to give the Moose a 3-2 lead after two periods. The lead was short lived
as the Wildcats tied the game at three just six seconds into the 3rd period.
Jonathan Drouin got what proved to be the winner at the 18:07 mark of the 3rd
banking a shot in off of a Moncton player. Cameron Critchlow added an empty
netter to seal the win. Zach Fucale turned aside 30 shots to pick up the
victory. The Mooseheads next game is
Saturday, February 4th when they host the Bathurst Titan, game time is
7pm.
