New Dawn III was built in Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia by James McKeil. Originally named Brandi Eileen, she worked as a commercial fishing boat for 3 years before being converted to a tour vessel and renamed New Dawn III. She is a tradional Cape Island style fishing vessel of fibreglass construction. The Cape Island style boat is native to Nova Scotia, first built around 1905. This type of vessel is renowned for their seaworthiness, stability and ability to carry heavy loads.
In order to operate as a passenger carry vessel, New Dawn III carries all the latest safety and navigational equipment and undergoes an inspection each spring with Transport Canada's Ship Safety Division. New Dawn III's Captain is licensed by Transport Canada to operate commercial passenger carrying vessels and her crew is trained in all safety procedures to ensure that your trip is a safe and enjoyable one. New Dawn III can carry 23 passengers. |
