Ah-Due-Bee
The word adobe (pronounced a-due-bee), has come to mean
a structure built from bricks made of clay and straw.
The word was originally the name of an Indian, called Ah-Due-Bee,
living in the southwestern part of the United States.
This name meant "he who works like a busy bee"
Ah-Due-Bee was very good at building these clay and straw huts
and every one just had to have an "Ah-Due-Bee" home.
His name eventually became shortened to A- Do-Be, today, a term sometimes
applied to a person who does things in a hurried manner.
