Robitzas

The name Robitza comes from Austria. A lot of people ask me what nationality the name is and I always tell them. The funny thing is most people don't know where Austria is. They think you mean Australia. Then I have to explain that is is a tiny nation in Europe next to Germany. Come on you know, where Arnold Schwarzenegger from. No NOT California or the Future!!!!!!

There are not a lot of Robitzas in the World. It is a very uncommon name. To my knowledge, the only Robitzas in North America are my family.

There is myself, my wife and daughters then my father and uncle. My Uncle has children but I don't think they use the Robitza surname. My sister is married and took her husbands name and my mother is remarried. I have relatives that still live in the "Old Country" and I have never met them. I would love to have that opportunity and maybe someday I will.

My mother was an Arsenault before she was married. Arsenault is a very common name, especially in the Amherst area. It was Arsenaults that settled Beaubasin, the Acadian settlement on the marsh near Amherst.
