I was introduced to the the world of Security by Paula Tucker in 2006. I started out by working with Source Security for large outdoor concerts in Moncton, NB. Later I would start working with Epic Security at the Amherst Stadium as security for the Amherst Jr A Rambler games. Epic closed and Shadow Security reopened. I have been with Shadow ever since and have no interest in leaving the company.
In 2009, my wife and daughter both signed on with the company. I am so proud to have the opportunity to work side by side with my family in a job that I love so much.

My fourth time working Harvest but my first as Supervisor. I loved every minute of it. Was a blast! Got to meet and chat with so many artists, JJ Grey and Super Chiken. I also got a Johnny Lang shirt.
Calmist year at Harvest and there were hundreds of people from Evolve at the show. Was great to talk to all the friends I made at Evolve. Taked to Nick and his dad about next year's Fredrock and we will be there 2012. With me as Supervisor as per his request. He also told me that my boss told him I was taking the lead on most Events in NB which means my request must have been accepted.
Stopped by NickyZ's since Nick is now my client for Fredrock. He added me to the guest list and I took some of the guards over after our last shift for the festival. Even got a comp drink. Love Nick and his Dad they are great people. Also talked to my friend, Dave Rab from Evolve. He works at NickyZ's.

Hope we will be allowed back in the Ramada Restuarant and Brookside Sobey's. LOL!!

- This was my first time as Event Supervisor of a Major Event. I have ran small events, static posts and hockey games in Amherst and Oxford. I did TSN Sports Centre in Amherst which was big but only a handful of guards. I also supervised IAAF in Sackville but had Troy Grabher to help me out and show me the ropes. But this is the big deal this time.

My first Pioneer Days. Had to eject several people over the two day event including a man that punched an undercover officer after he left the site. Also had a guy solisting woman for sexual favours. Idiot soliciated a female guard who just happened to be my wife. Guy got in with fireworks, that could have been a mess.

IAAF 2010 World Jr's Athletes' Village - Sackville, NB
The IAAF World Jr's were held in Moncton with athletes being housed in Moncton & Sackville, NB. We made friends with many athletes but I will never forget my adopted African daughter, Tatiana Guella.

Highland Games - This event included the Highland Game Heavyweight competitions, Tug o' War competition, Pipe and Drums competition as well as Crossfire, Jug In Hand, The Cameron's, The Black Donnellys, Signal Hill, Colin Grant Band, Michael Hall, Hilda Chaisson-Cormier, Pius MacIsaac, and many more.

Four Fathers Festival - This was the second annual festival in Amherst and there were many more events. Here is what I worked:
Much Music Video Dance Party - Was a decent show for the kids. If they only knew that I worked security for every other band that was played.
Amherst Ramblers Concert Event - Three bands played this event.
-- Garrett Mason - Headlined the show. Wasn't a bad set.
-- Sam Moon - This guy is awesome. I have seen him a few times before.
-- Big Deal - The drummer is a friend of mine.
Draw The Line Tour 2010, Halifax, NS
David Gray - I had no idea who he was and only say a minute of the set. After working the doors was told that there were too many guards on duty so we could head out if we wanted. So where we had over a 2 hour drive home we took the offer.

Alert The Medic - This event was the year end celebration for the Nova Scotia International Student Program. Students from Around the Planet who came to Nova Scotia to on the International Exchange Program were in Attendance. All School in Nova Scotia were represented with over 500 students present. New Glasgow indie band, Alert the Medic performed. They were really good.
BNL Spring Canadian Tour 2010, Halifax, NS
Barenaked Ladies - This was a good set. The crowd was crazy for a Barenaked Ladies show.
Joel Plaskett - I worked the Paul McCartney show and Joel Plaskett opened. I believe he also performed at the Fredericton Jazz festivals. I was on the doors and did not get to see him this time.

Hedley - I have seen them twice before but this is the first time I have officially worked one of their shows. I was asked to do close quarters security for their VIP if the Senior staff guys had to fly to NFLD to the Junos. They didn't have to go until after the concert to I missed out. The had a good set.
Faber Drive - I was on the floor during their set. They were not that bad.
Stereos - I was on the doors during their set. I could hear them and they sounded pretty good.
FeFe Dobson - I was on the doors during her set and could barely hear her.

AC/DC - Was an amazing show. The stage was out of this World. This will be hard to top.
Anvil - I thought I didn't know who Anvil was until they played Mad Dog. I remembered it from when I was a kid watching the Power Hour on Much Music.
The Answer - Opened the show with a bang. Pretty good band.

KISS - All I can say is OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!! This concert was amazing. I didn't get to see much but it music was awesome and the pyro was amazing.
Thornley - Great band, as usual didn't see much but I was surprised I knew some of the songs.
The Trews - Great set.
Econoline Crush - This was the second time that I worked an Econoline Crush show but the first time that I could hear them. A great band.
The Novaks - Was a good set
Frankie Whyte & The Dead Idols - Pretty good band as well.
Children of Eve - They won the Molson Canadian Rocks Maritime Showdown to earn the spot to open for Kiss.

Paul McCartney - My wife and I were backstage guarding the entrance to his compound. He spoke to her before he went to lunch. We were redeployed and I worked the pit during the show.
Joel Plaskett Emergency - Just before they went on stage the power went out and the crew went crazy trying to find out what the problem was.
Wintersleep - They had to rush out to get to Ireland right after their set.
Sierra Noble - She was only 19 years old.

Bon Jovi - What can I say about Bon Jovi? AWESOME!!!!!! During his set I was called to a situation in the crowd. A large man was assaulting a woman. I got in the crowd with him then my friend Ivan showed up. We got him out of the crowd and I had two sets of cuffs on him. Backup showed up and you can see the rest here.
Bachman-Cummings - I was surprised that the old guys could still ROCK!!
State of Shock - Second time I have see them and as always they stole the show!
Mobile - These guys were really good! I hope to see them again.
Alfa Rococo - Not my thing but they helped get the crowd going.

Disturbed - These guys were awesome. I was really impressed and they were a real nice bunch of guys. I was backstage with the bands before the show then was moved to the pit. If you look at the bottom left corner of this video you can make me out in the pit.
All That Remains - Another great band. Really nice. Put on an awesome show.
Skindred - Another great act and great bunch of guys.
Art of Dying - This was my favourite band of the night. They were really good.
ECC Brawl on the Border 2009, Amherst, NS
ECC Brawl on the Border was the first Mixed Martial Arts event ever held in the Amherst Stadium. It almost sold out the stadium. The matches were not that good though.

Neil Young - This was the first concert that my wife, Jolene, worked. She was at stage right with me all night. The show was pretty good. I am not a Neil Young fan but he put on a good performance.
Everest - These guys were not bad. Not my style of music either but not bad.

Alice Cooper - This was a great show. I was front and centre in the pit in front of the stage. It is the second time that I was a guard for an Alice Cooper Concert but I never got this close to him. There is a great YouTube. Alice Cooper - Halifax Metro Centre - 18. I am the guard with the hat. Alice hits me with the crutch during the song. He apologized after the show when I was his guard in the VIP room. I also had a run in with Bubbles from the Trailer Park Boys.
