When we are terminally ill we need care to make us comfortable so that we may live the remainder of life as fully as possible. Good Palliative Care improves the quality of living and dying. It addresses the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the dying person and offers support for families and loved ones. The isolation, pain and difficulty that one may feel in caring for a loved one with an incurable illness can be overwhelming. By working together as a community we can build a strong network of support for family, friends and individuals in need of help. |
Our activities are varied and ongoing. We have meetings to discuss issues and concerns regarding Palliative Care. Guest speakers are invited to share their knowledge of Palliative Care from either a professional or personal point of view. We have links to the services available in our health care system. We maintain an updated list of available resources. We are advocates for improving the delivery of Palliative Care. Many of our members are trained Palliative Care volunteers. |
