Altar Guild
A group of dedicated women who are responsible for preparing
the sanctuary area of the Church for Sunday service.
Bible Study
A group of parishioners who meet every
Wednesday evening
following the mid week Eucharist. "It is one thing to study the Bible as a literary
document, but quite another thing to mediate on it in full awareness of the ONE whose word
speaks to us."
Choir
Men and women and children who enjoy singing, are welcome to
join our choir for a weekly practice to enhance our 10:00 a.m. Sunday service.
Ladies Fellowship
The St. Peter's Ladies Guild, (now called St
Peter's Ladies Fellowship), Birch Cove, was founded in 1951. The first
meeting was held at the home of Mrs. R. Garden. The Ladies Fellowship meets
regularly and organizes the fund raising events, and promotes
fellowship. They are
also available to cater for special events. New members are always welcome.
The Ladies Fellowship is a strong, important group within the life of St
Peter's. Shown in the photograph are from left to right: Peggy Taylor,
Charlotte Horwich, Joy Gerhardt, Elin Blondahl, Edie Boutillier, Lorraine
Traynor, Jo Sutherland, Jane Murphy and Judy Appleton.
Mens Fellowship
Newly formed the Mens Fellowship meet on the third Saturday of each month
(excluding July & August) in Dakin Hall for breakfast at 8 am.
Completely catered by 'the guys', it provides an hour of fellowship and fun.
A guest speaker is invited to provide a stimulating message. All are
welcome.
Sunday School
An enthusiastic group of volunteers provide an enriching
Sunday School program for children of all ages. Family centered activities are planned
throughout the year.
Other Groups
Two Brownie groups, a Sparks group and a Pathfinders group
meet regularly in the Hall and Lounge.
St. Peter's is a contributing member of the Halifax West
Ecumenical Food Bank, based at St. John's Church in Fairview.
St. Peter's would welcome providing other groups
with meeting space at very attractive rental rates, or at no cost at all.
Parish Council
This body is made up of 12 nominated councilors, two Warden, a secretary, treasurer, and two lay delegates to Synod. Meetings are
held once a month.
