HTML1 for BEGINNER'S HOMEWORK

ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS

WEEK 1

I am gradually learning some basic HTML language (or is it syntax) through the HTML course material, class bulletin board, and the course reference materials. I am discovering that, clicking VIEW SOURCE on other web sites, can be overwhelming!

I have downloaded and used WS-FTP. I have also downloaded a graphics editing program.

WEEK 2

I am still working on absorbing and trying to incorporate the material from this week into my web site. I'm still in the 'try, try, try again' stage. I'm getting there, slowly but surely I hope.

  • Yes, I saved the template file as template.txt. Then I saved it again as index.html which I uploaded as the first page of my virtual notebook.
  • Yes, I began my Virtual Notebook & did the exercises at the end of Lesson 1.
  • I was able to access free web space with my IP.

While I was checking out the different links provided in the course material, I found information on definition lists. Definition lists consist of definition terms alternating with the definitions of the terms.

For more information on definition lists, check out: http://archive.ncsa.uiuc.edu/General/Internet/WWW/HTMLPrimerP1.html>
Some online resources that I have found to be helpful so far include but are not limited to:
    1. http://werbach.com/barebones/
    2. HTML Goodies"Tutorials"Pages>
    3. Otter's Place for FAQs
    4. Visibone Webmaster's Color Lab>
    5. A Quick Color Explanation
    6. Anne"s World and Web Page Resources

The latter site is loaded with links to lots of other resources as well.
