Welcome to the webpages of Wanderweg Kennel. We are located in Eastern Canada in beautiful Halifax, Nova Scotia. We hope that you enjoy visiting with our Leonberger dogs and our sweetest Leo puppies! In 1990 we purchased our first lovely Bernese Mountain Dog from a kennel in Switzerland and bred Berners selectively for the next 15 years. Our last Berner litter born in November, 2005! In 1999 we brought home our first sweet Leonberger puppy from a kennel in the USA. She was the start of our lovely Leonbergers. We had our first Leonberger litter in 2002 and have been selectively and occasionally breeding Leonbergers since then! We love them to pieces they are amazing dogs!
Our kennel is striving to breed beautiful and healthy Leonbergers. We are members of the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC), the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of Canada (BMDCC), the Leonberger Club of Canada (LCC) and are a member kennel of the Leonberger Club of America (LCA).
Our puppies are registered with the CKC and are health checked prior to going to their new homes. We breed for health, temperament, type, and soundness and of course beautiful looks. Our breeding Leonbergers are x-rayed for hip and elbow dysplasia and have their eyes checked prior to breeding. All our Leonbergers have their health CHIC number and are LPN1 tested prior to being bred and they have exceptional temperaments. We love them!
Our dogs are cherished members of our family and our puppies are raised in our home and are available to loving families. Our dogs are the 'loves of our lives' and we try to place our puppies into families that will cherish every moment with their new canine friend. We always try to answer emails in a timely fashion, but sometimes we can get so busy with life, the kids and the dogs that it takes us a little time to respond. We ask that you please be patient and If you email and don't hear back from us please try again and again and again! We always are happy to answer any questions you might have and a Wanderweg puppy is certainly worth the wait!
